When you go whale watching, you’ll want a narrated tour, so you can learn about the natural history and the amazing marine wildlife in the Monterey Bay. Princess Monterey Whale Watching has been taking visitors out into the Monterey Bay for more than 30 years. Their year-round whale watching tours are guided by marine biologists or naturalists who are experts in whales and other bay life.
Princess Monterey and the Greatland
Choose from two well-appointed whale watching vessels, the Princess Monterey and the Greatland. For an upgrade fee you can select Upper Deck seating for a fantastic view! Both vessels have indoor, heated cabins, clean restrooms, and both indoor and outdoor seating.
Trips last from 2 ½ to 3 hours. Depending on when you tour, you’ll have an opportunity to see whales, porpoise, dolphins, sea lions, seals, otters, sharks, sun fish, jellyfish, and sea turtles. Birders will enjoy a wide array of birds.

What to Wear When Whale Watching
What should you wear for your whale watching tour? The weather changes frequently in the Monterey Bay. Dress in layers, with long pants and a windbreaker. Hats help protect you from the sun. Please wear flat shoes with closed toes.
